The Fascinating Citadel in Algeria’s Sahara Desert

The Ksar, which means “castle” in Arabic, was built in the 14th century and is considered one of the most significant and well-preserved ksars in the region. It is a testament to the ingenuity of the inhabitants who constructed it to withstand the harsh desert environment.
The Timimoun Citadel is located in the heart of the Sahara Desert, surrounded by vast stretches of sand dunes and rocky outcrops.
