Hakimi scores 2 goals for PSG then red carded
Fance’s Ligue 1 leaders have convincingly defeated Ajaccio 5-0. The match saw both teams reduced to 10 men following an altercation between Thomas Mangani and Achraf Hakimi, where Mangani threw a punch and Hakimi retaliated.
Hakimi is one of the stars of the last world cup in Qatar in December 2022. He helped Morocco reach a historic semi-finals as the first African team. His personal life outside the pitches has been less glamourous. He was recently accused of rape which led to a divorce.
During the game, PSG took control early on, with Fabian Ruiz and Hakimi finding the net in the first half. The second half witnessed Kylian Mbappe’s brilliance as he scored twice, extending PSG’s lead. Ajaccio’s woes continued as Mohamed Youssouf’s own goal added to their misery, ultimately resulting in their relegation.
The game saw also the return of Messi after a suspension for an unauthorized trip. Lionel Messi faced some boos from a section of Paris St-Germain fans. Messi, having served his suspension, played the entire 90 minutes for PSG, marking his first appearance since the club disciplined him for his unsanctioned journey to Saudi Arabia.
Under the guidance of Christophe Galtier, PSG now stands just four points away from securing their record 11th French title. They maintain a comfortable six-point lead over second-placed Lens, with only three fixtures remaining.
